I have joined American Corner in Uralsk in August 2008, and since then it has been a place where I find new friends, help them improve their English language skills, learn a lot myself, earn invaluable experience and just have fun. Leading the AC Discussion Club is a great pleasure; the members always have something to speak about, they are open to learn new stuff and share their opinion. It is such a wonderful thing to see how newcomers are shy at first, but gradually their speaking gets better and better with every meeting, they start being more active and soon become a part of our big family. AC gives us the opportunity to read books and periodicals of English and American writers, and watch movies in English. The members of the Club especially enjoy watching American films and then discuss them.

AC helps me improve my language skills, share my American experience and stay close to the American culture, even though I am already home in Kazakhstan. I can see that it is a real help to those who want to improve their English and keep busy. Moreover, it is a place where you study without realizing it because the American Corner is a lot of fun and has a friendly atmosphere.
