I really improved language proficiency and American culture knowledge attending the English club in Karaganda. The existence of such clubs brings the opportunity to become confident and sociable to learn more not only about American culture, but also about the cultures of numerous ethnic groups living in our country, as far as these are the places where different people of various age, culture and religion background crisscross.
Besides, Round table discussions develop our critical and creative thinking, understanding of pragmatic ways of problem solutions. Actually, it depends on the type of classes we attend.
Women’s Club permits us exchange opinions and solutions to the problems we face in our everyday life.
Journalism classes focus on our writing skills and creative thinking development.
Art and culture trainings widen our knowledge of World Art.
Model United nations extend our understanding of politics and economy problems, related to international conflicts and cooperation activities.
Finally, the Peace Corps volunteers, being the representatives of American culture, broke our stereotypes. We really learnt to be more tolerant towards other countries and each other. So if I were asked to cite a simple reason about my motivation to go to English Club discussions, I would say: “The only way to achieve knowledge is to teach themselves and others to be kind and tolerant, and Peace Corps volunteers had done that perfectly!
